Discovering your Brilliant Baby

Your baby is born with 9 months of experience and lots of skills and abilities which help him to cope in his new world. One of these, is the amazing ability to use his behaviour as a way of communicating with you.
Discovering Your Brilliant Baby using the Brazelton Neonatal Behavioural Assessment Scale provides your baby with a voice, it gives him an opportunity to let you know who he is, his temperament, what he likes, what his particular skills and vulnerabilities might be and what he needs from you to help him learn and develop. In turn, learning this new ‘language’ helps increase your confidence and competence as a parent, leaving you free to enjoy the experience of being a parent without the worries of not knowing what your baby is trying to tell you.
Discovering your Brilliant Baby is for babies up to 8 weeks of age and consists of 2 x 1hr home visits. The assessment takes place during the first visit and looks at your baby’s behaviour, reflexes, states, social interaction, ‘time out’ signals and sleep protection. Interpretation and feedback of the assessment takes place at the 2nd visit when you will also receive a written report for you to keep which will give you all the information we learned together about your baby.
