Supplementary Postnatal Support

The first few weeks after having a baby is a very special, unique time for a new or growing family. A whole new dynamic is emerging which influences your lives and a very steep learning curve has begun. The postnatal period is a time when many parents can feel especially vulnerable, as life with a newborn brings distinctive challenges. At Infant Affinity we feel that intensive support for new parents is essential for a smooth adaptation to family life. Our aim is to support you through the newborn period, answering your questions or worries, and supporting you to enjoy your baby and your role as a parent. This time is intense and demanding, but it is also wonderful, irreplaceable and precious! 

Although many parents feel that NHS care is of a very high standard, there sometimes isn’t enough time to spend discussing issues that matter to you, and postnatal visits are limited in time and frequency. Infant Affinity allows you the extra time, and provides you with support and reassurance when you need it most. We can be there for you, even if it’s just to discuss a particular concern over a cup of tea!

Infant Affinity can provide all of your postnatal care or supplement the support provided by your NHS midwife.

We will provide: 

Routine clinical checks to monitor the health of you and your baby.
Advice on feeding your baby (breast or bottle).
Practical advice on caring for your baby such as bathing, sleeping, soothing and safety.
Information on development, infant communication and babys emotional needs.
Debrief of labour and delivery, allowing you time to reflect on your experience with a skilled professional.

Cost: £65 per visit or £300 for package of 6 visits to be used up to 6 weeks postnatally.
